"Ladies and Gentleman....my name is Paul Heyman...."
The introduction is familiar to any wrestling fan,
especially when Heyman followed that by announcing he was the advocate for
"BRRRROCK Lesnar". Brock's no
longer wrestling thanks to being implicated in the Jenel Grant sex abuse
lawsuit. The Wall Street Journal reported Lesnar as the unnamed wrestler in
Grant's filing against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE.
Lesnar who last wrestled at SummerSlam 2023 is on hiatus,
and Heyman was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Heyman was or may still be a p*** "mark". When I
had my gossip site, Heyman frequently weighed in, often with
sarcastic comments.
Heyman and Rob Black were at odds,
Rob Black was starting up his wrestling company, XPW. Since Paul “the Advocate” pretty much had the East Coast territory to himself with ECW, Black figured the West Coast was up
for grabs and staged an invasion at a wrestling pay-per-view event. Heyman was
a real p*** hound in those days.
Heyman’s ECW was having a show at the Olympic Auditorium,
and Paul Fishbein asked a friend of mine whether he wanted to go.
He said, sure and asked him what the tickets were going for, and he told only $100.
They met up with Steve Hirsch, and it was Hirsch who got the
tickets. And when they got to the Olympic, and sat in the second row, ringside,
and a bunch of Rob Black's guys were in the first row in front of them.
Black's boys were there for a reason - to wreck some havoc on national TV with p*** chick Kristi Myst feigning to show her t***. The rest is history with that afternoon virtually putting XPW on the wrestling map with their nose-to-nose confrontation with ECW.
Hirsch ended up extracting $300 from my friend for his ticket. Just
out of curiosity, He asked Black the next day what he had paid for his tickets.
He told only $100.
Hirsch scalped, like Heyman's current hair line, for $200
bucks.
