As you get older it takes time to remember something you
forgot. Hence the name Emily Willis started ringing a familiar note. Willis, of
course, is in a vegetative coma following cardiac arrest, and her prospects
look grim.
Then it hit me. Willis [left] had filed a $5M defamation
lawsuit in 2021 against two other female performers, Gianna Dior [upper right]
and Adria Rae [lower right] for falsely accusing her of taking part in a
bestiality video.
The suit has been in the court system over three years.
Hearings were due next month but with Willis in her state, who knows?
This reminds me of the time performer Christi Lake sued
gossip reporter Luke Ford over the same allegations.
In this case, Dior and Rae claimed Willis was filmed engaging
in sex acts with a dog.
Willis alleged in her suit filed against Dior and Rae that the
women tanked her future career prospects by falsely accusing her of taking part
in the bestiality video on social media.
“There was considerable rumor, speculation and innuendo
about the identities of the performers within the industry, including on social
media,” says Willis’ suit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
“It was a scandal, and a highly salient one, with obvious
potential to destroy careers.”
Dior, whose real name is Emily Katherine Correro, and Rae,
whose actual name is Kiersten Vanbelkum, allegedly both tweeted that Willis was
one of the women featured in the video making the rounds online.
The suit alleged that the women “had much to gain” by drawing
Willis into the scandal.
Willis who won female performer of the year at the Adult
Video News Awards has about 723,000 Twitter followers, while Dior and Rae have
about 414,000 and 168,000 followers, respectively, according to the suit.
“Participants in the adult entertainment industry are heavy
users of Twitter, which they use to communicate among themselves and with the general
public,” the suit says.
Willis claimed that after the pair tweeted the false
accusation, she received calls from several producers and others within the
industry asking her about it.
“Beyond the obvious economic harm, this was extremely
embarrassing and distressing,” the suit said. “But worse, to untold others in
the industry and in the consumer base, [Willis] may never have a chance to
fully clear her name.”
Rae had tried taking her own life in 2019.
