FSC Confronts Treasury Officials over Anti-Trafficking and Anti-Money Laundering Regulations for Adult Industry Performers

A story on AVN this week got performers in an uproar on Twitter. First the story.

Members of the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) met with officials at the U.S. Department of Treasury last week to squawk about anti-trafficking and anti-money laundering regulations and how they're being applied to adult workers and businesses.

According to the FSC's take, officials were "largely unaware" of the issue and committed to working with the FSC to help address it.

“In each of our trips to D.C., we’ve found broad agreement that financial discrimination harms adult businesses and workers,” FSC executive director Alison Boden [pictured] said.

“The question is why it’s happening and how to fix it. We’re encouraged by our discussions last week, and look forward to working with Congress, Treasury, and others to change discriminatory policies that lead to instability, vulnerability, and exploitation.”

Bowen sheds optimism that the challenges faced by individuals in the adult industry, particularly the systematic de-banking and financial discrimination they encounter can be resolved.

"FSC stands firm in our commitment to advocating for the rights and freedoms of our members, who deserve equal access to basic financial products and services without discrimination," states Boden.

"We commend the Treasury's dedication to advancing financial inclusion and promoting a more transparent financial system."
